We have now been providing industry-leading wet grinding and dispersion process solutions for over 80 years.
We introduced our first innovative machine, the DiscPerser, in the 1950s, and its unique ring-style “D” blade revolutionized the manufacturing process for paints and inks. Over the next two decades, we added various new machines, including horizontal paste mixers, pony mixers, paddle blade agitators, multi-shave mixers, attritors, and paper balers, to our range.
Forty years ago this year we relocated to our expansive facility in Elizabeth City, NC, which is still our home to this day.

Innovation has always been at the heart of how we do things here at Hockmeyer. The development of our hero product and an industry first, the HCP Immersion Mill, as well as the addition of six patents for progressive improvements, has changed the game for manufacturers by minimizing waste and considerably shortening the process times for many applications.
Following the HCP, our next major development was the introduction of the NEXGEN™ Mill. This iteration added vacuum, rapid recirculation, and improved temperature controls, all in a machine that is portable and, with its smaller footprint, ideal for tight spaces.
At Hockmeyer, we do not reinvent the wheel. Instead, our focus is on the continuous improvement of existing technologies. We believe in taking what already exists and making it even better.
Unfortunately, our competitors do attempt to copy our machines from time to time. However, for the original and best versions, manufacturers all over the world still trust Hockmeyer. This is why we created our unique testing facility, in which laboratory models of all our popular machines are available along with pilot size and production equipment, all designed to help our customers develop their processes and choose the right machine for their needs.
